Why do we need journalists if there is social media. Life has become so advanced, that so many people read magazines online and also others prefers being informed about events, occasions and many other things on social media. On many occasions, journalists does not even arrive at the event fast enough to scoop a story before it has been tweeted about already, or has been posted on Facebook. Many has been required to interact on social networks, due to their studies or jobs, this way we are updated with everything that has been happening and also we are aware of future occasions. Journalists are of no use today.

I think journalists will always be need no matter how social media takes over, I firmly believe that journalist bring some sort of authenticity to whatever they report on , yes we may be citizen journalists in our own manner and respects, BUT we need to get the story from actual professionals which are our journalists.
ReplyDeleteBut also keep in mind that journalist keeps out information that the public wants to know. It is never detailed enough. Still we find ourselves doing further research on the story. Journalists basically just gives us an idea of the event

ReplyDeleteI feel that journalists won't be needed in future as much as they are now as citizens also play journalistic roles. Anoher thing to consider is that robots and social media can easily play a journalists role in our daily lives. Remember that the world is evolving therefore you cannot be guaranteed that journalists will always be needed or required.
